Fish Curry with kodampuli

Ingredients

Fish 500gms
Big onion 1 nos
Small onion 4 nos
Garlic 8 nos
Ginger 2cm piece Chilli powder 2 tablespoon
Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon
Fenugreek powder 1/4 teaspoon
Oil 1/4 cup
Curry leaves 2 stakes
Kodampuli**(garcinia) 3 cloves
Salt to taste

Method
Grind small onion, half of the ginger and 4 garlic cloves. Chop big onion, remaining garlic and ginger. Soak kodampuli (garcinia) in little water.

Mix Chilli powder, turmeric powder and fenugreek powder together with little water and keep aside for soaking.

Heat the oil. Add chopped big onion, garlic, curry leaves and ginger and fry till onion become golden colour. Remove this mixture from the oil.

Add socked chilli powder, turmeric powder, fenugreek powder, ground onion and ginger paste. Fry this mix for about 4-5 minutes while continuously stirring. Now add the soaked kodampuli (garcinia), salt and water.

Allow this mixture to boil. Then add fish, fried onion and ginger. Cook it till the gravy become thick
