Clean the crab, separate the legs and break the shell.
Peel the onion and slice it . Peel the ginger, garlic and crush it. Slice the chillies in lengthwise. Chop the tomatoes.
Infuse the tamarind in 2 tablespoons of hot water for 5 minutes and prepare the extract.
In heavy bottomed pan pour the oil and fry the cummin seed or cummin powder and sliced onion until the onion become soft .Reduce the heat to minimum , add chilli powder and turmeric powder
Increase the heat little more and add the tomato paste. Cook until there is an aroma.
Add the crab, green chillies, crushed garlic, salt and choped tomatoes lower the heat and cover the pan.
Stir well for 2-3 minutes and add the tamarind juce . cook until crabs are done. Remove from heat, granish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
