Well. Your question is debatable. The officials say there is nothing preplanned in it. But the atheists say it is artificial. My knowledge of the Jyothi is limited to this information. The topic of interest here was the communal harmony in the story that is absent today. In that context, the Jyothi is totally irrelevant.
