It was late Mani Madhava Chakyar, who brought koothu and kudiyattam outside the koothambalams. It was he who taught kudiyattam to other caste peoples otherthan Chakyar - nambiars. It was Christoffer Brysky , a polish from Banaras Hindu University studied Kudiyatam under him and performed it- it was well before kalamandalam started Kudiyattam classes.
